When and how can I renew my domain name?
We strongly recommend that you renew your domain names before they expire, so that no problem occurs to your website' s operation, as well as to any other services related to your domain names (your email accounts, for instance).
Concerning .gr domain names, they may be renewed for at least 2 years and maximum for 10years. Once it has expired, a .gr domain is moved to “quarantine” status for 15 days, during which it can only be renewed by the domain' s current owner. After this period, the domain is released and it can is available again for registration.
Relatively, .eu domain names can be renewed from 1 to 10 years. Once a .eu domain has expired, it is moved to quarantine status for 40 days. During this period, the domain can be renewed only by its current owner. Eurid Registry imposes for reactivating a .eu domain that has been moved to quarantine a fee which is defined by Eurid' s current price list. About this fee, you may at the time be informed by your registrar, i.e. IP.GR.
About other domains, those with suffixes such as: com, .org, .net, .biz, .info, they may also be renewed from 1 to 10 years. Once they have expired, they are moved to quarantine status for 30 days, during which only the current owner has the right to renew them.
