How to add external multimedia in a post of your WordPress website?
Integrating multimedia elements on your website's pages can give a different quality to your content by improving the performance metrics of it (engagement).
In WordPress you can add multimedia elements in a post, that are hosted externally of your website, by embedding them from other websites like:
- videos from YouTube,
- photos from Flickr or
- music from Spotify.
Create a new post (or edit an existing one) by going to Posts > Add New. Type your post and when you a ready to insert external multimedia click the Add Media button located at the top of the text editor.
In the popup window that will be shown click the Insert from URL link at the left. On the right you will see a text field where you have to insert the link for the external multimedia that you want to embed in your post. Type or paste the URL address and the element will be loaded automatically below the text field. If everything is done right click the Insert into Post button to insert the multimedia element into your post.
Finally click the Publish button on the right of the page to publish your new post with the embedded multimedia.
