How to configure your emails accounts, autoresponders, vacation messages, email filters

Creating EMail Accounts

To create an email account, log in the control panel, press "Email Management" and then press "E-MAIL Accounts". You may observe that there is already an email account, the (where "username" is the name you used to log in the control panel). This account is permanent and you can not delete it.

To create a new POP3 email account, press "Create Mail Account" and the following frame will appear: Type the username and the password. Next, press "Create". The control panel will show you a page as the one seen in the following picture:

Enter a username and password. Then click "Create." The control panel will then return a page that looks like:

Note: You can not create a POP3 account, if the username is received from an auto-responder, a mail forwarder.

Changing the E-Mail Account Access Codes

To change an account's access code, go to "E-Mail Accounts" selection. Then, press "change" (next to the email address). As soon as the "Modify" frame appears, type the new password and select "Update".

To delete an email account, use the "E-Mail Accounts" choice. Then, in the appearing frame, select the account/ accounts you wish to delete and press "Delete".

Setting a Catch-All E-Mail Address

When the server receives an email from an address that does not exist, has to proceed with some actions. The control panel provides you 3 choices:

1. Server will delete the message and notify the sender that the address does not exist.
2. Server will delete the message, without notifying the sender.
3. Server will forward the message in a valid email address

To select one of those, go to "E-Mail Management" choice in the control panel. Then, click on "Catch- All E-Mail" and you will see a frame as the following:

Select the appropriate choice and press "Update".


The forwarders allow you to redirect your incoming mail to a different. For example, assume that you wish a message sent to and, to reach the POP3 account. You may accomplish that, by creating two forwarders.

Note: You may not create a forwarder name, if it already exists as a POP3 account, an autoresponder or a mailing list.

To create a forwarder name, go to "E-Mail Management" in the control panel. Next, click on "Create New E-Mail Forwarder" and you will see a frame as the following:

Insert the forwarder's name, the destination address and press "Create" button. Note that, you may forward the emails in several addresses, simply by separating the addresses with a comma, e.g.,,

Modifying / Deleting Forwarders

All forwarders are listed in forwarder selections. To delete a forwarder, select the forwarder's name and click the "Delete Selected" button.

A forwarder can be modified, by clicking on "modify" which lies next to the forwarder's address. The modify characteristic allows you to change the email destination address, but not the forwarder's name.


Autoresponders are email robots and answer all incoming messages with a typical outgoing message. The autoresponder will answer messages received, in spite of their content. For example, there are companies which keep their price lists updated using autoresponders. The possible customers would send an email to the and will receive back the price list in their inbox in a quite short time.

To create an autoresponder go to "E-Mail Menu" in the control panel. Then, click on the "Autoresponders" icon and then on "Create New Autoresponder".

1. Select an autoresponder name.

Note: you can not create an autoresponder name, if it already exists as POP3 account, forwarder or mailing list.

2. Insert the autoresponder message in the text field. You may also add the HTML tags. Note that this may cause problem in email programs, if they are not supporting HTML tags.

3. You may optionally insert a CC address. This will send a copy of every autoresponder answer in the address contained in the text field. The activation of the CC feature allows you to check the number of the request your autoresponder receives.

All autoresponders are listed in the autoresponder choices. To delete an autoresponder, choose the autoresponder's name and press the button "Delete Selected".

To modify an autoresponder, press "modify" next to autoresponder's name. The "modify" option allows you to change the autoresponder message and CC address. Once you are done, press "Create" button.

Vacation Messages

Vacation messages inform other people that you are away. A typical vacation message could be: "I have received your email, but I'm away on vacation until June 1st. I will answer you in time".

Vacation messages are used along with POP3 accounts.

To create a vacation message, go to "E-Mail Menu" in the control panel. Then, click on "Vacation Messages" icon and next on "Set Vacation Message".

Firstly, select the POP3 account you wish to send a vacation message. Next, insert the message and choose the time period you would like the message to be in use. Finally, press "Create".

All vacation messages are listed in vacation messages settings. To delete completely a vacation message, select the vacation account and press "Delete Selected".

A vacation message can be modified by clicking on "modify", next to the vacation account. The "modify" option allows you to change the vacation message content, the start and end time of the vacation messages.


Filters allow you to block specific types of incoming messages. Filters are global, i.e. you will not be able to set a filter for specified email accounts. To create the filters, go to "E-Mail Management" in the control panel and then press "Spam Filters".


1. Your first choice allows you to block all email from a certain email address. Type this address and press "Block".

2. Your second choice is to block all email from a specific domain name. Type the domain's name and press "Block".

3. You may block the emails containing a specific word, typing the word and pressing "Block". According to this feature, prohibited words are detected, both in the emails subject and content.

4.You also have the ability to set a maximum size for your incoming emails, inserting a value in kilobytes and pressing "Block". The "adult" filter can be turned off/ on by pressing "Enable". This filter blocks the most common phrases, words and addresses that are adult only.

In this example we have no reason any longer block all emails received from Select the filter you wish to delete and press "Delete Selected".

To access your webmail, press "E-Mail Management" in the control panel's main choices and click on "Webmail: Roundcube" or "Webmail: UebiMiau".

At first, insert your full address in the field "Name(Squirrelmail)" or "Login (UebiMiau)". Afterwards, type your code and click on "Connect".


Important: If you are the default user, to access your email address, use your login and password you use for the control panel.
