How can I find my domains authorization code?
Get authorization code for domain transfer
To each domain name is assigned a unique sequence of characters and digits, which is the domain's authorization code. It can be used among others to change a domain's registrar, i.e. to transfer the domain from a company to another.
If you wish to transfer a domain to IP.GR:
.gr domain
To get the authorization code of a .gr domain, you can alternatively proceed to the following actions:
- Ask your previous registrar, who is obliged to notify you.
- Ask us to send you the authorization code via Registry. It will be sent to the domain owner's email address.
- Complete the authorization code disclosure form at NTPC, in case the previous registrar denies to provide you this information.

.eu domain
To get the authorization code of a .eu domain, you can alternatively proceed to the following actions:
Ask the previous registrar, who is obliged to notify you.
Via Registry, in three steps:
- Subscribe here , using your domain name and the email you have used to register this domain.
- Login here
- Then, you may get your authorization code.
.com .net .org .info .biz domain
To get the authorization code of all other domain names, you will have to ask the previous registrar, who has the obligation to provide you this information.
If your domain is registered in IP.GR and need want its authorization code:
.gr domain
You may modify your .gr domain's authorization code through your account's control panelIP.GR's website.
- Before you attempt any changes, make sure you are logged in your account. Otherwise, select Login and use your email and your password to log in your account.
- Then, follow the path:
My Account-> Domains -> My Domain names
- Through your active domain names list, select the domain for which you want to alter the authorization code and click on the Edit icon.
- In your domain's Edit panel choose Authorization Code.
- You may enter a new sequence, which will be your domain's new authorization code. Each domain's authorization code should consist of 8 to 16 characters and contain at least a lower case character, an upper case character, a digit and one of the special characters ~!@#$%^*(){}:;-_+=?[]. You may use the suggested authorization code which is automatically generated. Type it in the fields "Authorization Code" and "Repeat Authorization Code" and press Continue. You may now use this authorization code for all purposes.
