In case the customer wishes to register a domain name with .de extension, the customer should reside in Germany, or should be able to provide a valid German address.

To activate a .de domain, the customer has to provide at least two functional nameservers. For a .de domain, the customer has the right to use up to 5 different nameservers. Moreover, these two nameservers required have to be active in two different subnets and also have to be authoritative for the domain registered, at the moment of the domain's registration.

If the domain is registered and its nameservers have not been activated yet, the customer should activate them and connect them with the domain, within a time period of 30 days. In case this does not happen, after the 30 days period expires, the .de domain names' Registry deletes the domain, without any further notice and without any refund.

In case any changes are made on the domain's nameservers, during this 30 days period, will be validated by the .de domains' Registry. If the changed do not do not fulfill the eligibility criteria that have been established by the Registry, these changes will be ignored.
