Change a domain names owner

To transfer a domain to a new owner (Individual / Legal Entity) through IP.GR, a prerequisite is that the domain must have been registered with or transferred to our company, meaning that IP.GR must be the current registrar of the domain.

.gr domain

The transfer of a .gr domain is a chargeable action by the greek domain name Registry and the fee amounts to € 27.00 + VAT.

1. Initially, you need to log in to your IP.GR account.
2. Next, you need to create a contact with the data of the new domain owner via:
   
   

   Dashboard > Domains > Contacts > Register .gr contact

3. Then, go to:
   
   

   Dashboard > Domains > My domain names

   and from the list of active domains, click the “Edit” button to the right of the domain you wish to transfer.
4. From the side menu that appears on the left, navigate to Domain trade.
5. Select the new owner from the list and click Continue.
6. Finally, you will be redirected to your cart in order to select the type of document (Receipt / Invoice) and the payment method for the transfer fees, before completing your order.

Once the order is paid, the transfer application will be sent to you by email in .pdf format, along with instructions for completing it. The transfer is completed once we receive the fully filled application by email, signed by both parties (current and new owner).

.eu domain

The transfer of an .eu domain is free of charge and is completed through a zero-cost order that is submitted by the domain administrator.

1. Initially, you need to log in to your IP.GR account.
2. Next, you need to create a contact with the data of the new domain owner via:
   
   

   Dashboard > Domains > Contacts > Register .eu contact

   If the new owner is a legal entity, you have also to fill in the "Company" field with the full company name, as well as the VAT number at the end of the form. Note: Before the 9-digit Greek VAT number, you need to add the prefix EL.
3. Then, go to:
   
   

   Dashboard > Domains > My domain names

   and from the list of active domains, click the “Edit” button to the right of the domain you wish to transfer.
4. From the side menu that appears on the left, navigate to Domain trade.
5. Select the new owner from the list and click Continue.
6. Finally, you will be redirected to your cart to complete the (zero-cost) order that will be created.

The transfer of an .eu domain is carried out manually by the designated IP.GR department after the relevant checks.

.com, .net, .biz, .org, .info domain

The transfer of domains with extensions such as .com, .net, .biz, .org, .info etc, is free of charge and is carried out by editing the data of the current owner.

1. Initially, you need to log in to your IP.GR account.
2. Then, go to:
   
   

   Dashboard > Domains > My domain names

   and from the list of active domains, click the “Edit” button to the right of the domain you wish to transfer.
3. From the "Overview" tab that appears, scroll down to "Contacts" and click the "Edit" button to the right of the "Owner".
4. From the form that opens, you can edit the desired fields, completing them using uppercase Latin characters. If the new owner is a legal entity, you must also fill in the “Company” field with the full company name.
5. Finally, click "Continue" to save the changes you have made.
