How can I download a full backup of my website on my computer?
You can take a full backup of your website (Full cPanel Backup) easily through the cPanel. Typically, you need a full backup to transfer your website from one ISP to another. For all other cases, a simple partial backup is enough, if you want to keep a backup of your website. A partial backup includes your home directory, a full cpanel backup contains all your account details.
Download a Full cPanel backup to your computer
- Login to cPanel
-
Click the Backups option located in the Files category.
-
In the Full Backup category click the Download a Full Website Backup option.

In the Backup Destination field you can select the folder you want your backup to be saved. Leaving the default Home Directory option make sure that there is enough space for the backup to be saved.
If you don't have the needed space to save your backup you can upgrade your account to a bigger package or save the backup to an other server using an FTP connection and typing the appropriate credentials in the Remote FTP Server field.
In the Email Address field you can insert an email address in order to be informed when the backup is ready. This capability is provided because an account can contain large amounts of data and the creation of a backup may need some time, so entering your email address you will receive a notification and you will not need to wait for the completion of the process.
Click the Generate Backup option.
Upon completion of the Backup in the Available Backups To Download section you will see the backup you just created and download it to your computer.
