How to issue and install an SSL certificate that I purchased?
In order to issue an SSL certificate, you must first create -unless you already have- an email account like webmaster@my_domain_name.gr and make sure you have access to it.
Then, you need to generate a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) from the hosting server of your website.
Then, you need to generate a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) from the hosting server of your website.
If your website is being hosted by IP.GR, you can follow the steps below:
- Log into your cPanel account.
- From SECURITY section, click on the SSL/TLS icon.
- Select Generate, view, or delete SSL certificate signing requests.
- Fill in the required fields marked with an asterisk (*) and click Generate.
- Copy the entire content both of the generated CSR (Encoded Certificate Signing Request) and the Private Key (Encoded Key) including the first and last lines that start and end with "-----" and paste them in a text file. Note: Make sure that this file will be kept in a safe place.

If you own the CSR and the Private Key:
- Log into your IP.GR account.
- Go to: My account > My SSL certs.
- At this section you can find your SSL in a Waiting for configuration state. Click Edit.
- Fill in the required fields and as an email you can use the webmaster@my_domain_name.gr. Then click Save.
- Now the status of the SSL has been changed to Being processed. In this stage you are awaiting the Certificate Authority to install and send you the certificate (CRT) to the email address you entered to the previous form. Note: You may receive some more informative emails until the final CRT, along with an email that you have to click on a link in order to confirm the process.
- As soon as the CRT is issued, the SSL status changes to Issued.
Once you receive the email with the CRT, copy all its lines including the first and last line that start and end with "-----". - Log into your cPanel account, go to SSL/TLS and select Manage SSL sites.
- If the domain you want to install your SSL on is not already selected, select it from the Domain drop-down list.
In the relative fields below, paste both the CRT that you received via email and the Private Key that was generated along with the CSR and then click Install Certificate to install the SSL certificate.
