Change a domain names owner

Change a domain name's owner

.gr domain

To transfer a .gr domain' s ownership to a new owner via IP.GR, it is necessary that the domain has been registered or has been already transferred to IP.GR, i.e. IP.GR is the registrar of this domain name.

Next, you will have to follow the steps below:

  1. At first, you should create the contact that is going to be the domain's new owner.
  2. Then, a domain trade application must be sent, following these instructions:
    • You should log in your account in IP.GR
    • Follow the path:

      Dashboard > Domains > My domain names

    • From the active domain names list in your account, select the domain that you wish to transfer to a new owner and then click on the Edit icon.
    • Once you are in the Edit panel, select Domain Trade.
    • Choose the new owner and then press Continue. In the next step, you will have to select also the means you are going to use to make the payment of the domain trade fees, as well as the type of the document that will be issued for this transaction.
    • Then, you proceed to the order.
  3. Your order should be financially settled.
    Note: A .gr domain's owner change is a chargeable by the greek name Registry act and it costs 27,00 € + VAT, according to the current price list. The trade application is forwarded to the Registry, after the trade fees have been paid.
  4. After the financial settlement of the fees, a .pdf file that will be the change domain's owner application will be sent to your account contact email. The form has to be signed both by the new and the current owner and then sent back to IP.GR via email,  in order to be forwarded to the Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission.

.eu domain

To transfer a .eu domain' s ownership to a new owner via IP.GR, it is necessary that the domain has been registered or has been already transferred to IP.GR, i.e. IP.GR is the registrar of this domain name.

Next, you will have to follow the steps below:

  1. At first, you should create the contact that is going to be the domain's new owner.
  2. Then, a domain trade application must be sent, following these instructions:
    • You should log in your account in IP.GR
    • Follow the path:

      Dashboard > Domains > My domain names

    • From the active domain names list in your account, select the domain that you wish to transfer to a new owner and then click on the Edit icon.
    • Once you are in the Edit panel, select Domain Trade.
    • Choose the new owner and then press Continue. In the next step, you will have to select also the means you are going to use to make the payment of the domain trade fees, as well as the type of the document that will be issued for this transaction.
    • Then, you proceed to the order.

Note: A .eu domain trade is not a chargeable act by Eurid. Your order will not cost anything.The trade application is forwarded to the Registry and both parts receive an email, at the contact email address, to be informed that the trade procedure has been completed.

.com, .net, .biz, .org, .info domain

A .com, .net, .biz, .org, .info domain change of ownership, does not include any kind of application. It can be done on line, through your account in IP.GR' s website, by changing the domain's owner data. It is not a chargeable act.

You may follow the steps below, to modify the owner of the domain name you are interested in:

  • At first, log in to your account in IP.GR.
  • Then, follow the path:

    Dashboard > Domains > My domain names

  • Select the domain you wish to transfer to a new owner from the list of the active domain names in your account and then click on the Edit icon.
  • In the Edit panel, in Contact holder, click on the Edit icon to edit the domain owner data.
