Domain change owners name
A change of the domain owner’s name applies in cases where the identity of the individual or legal entity remains the same. In any other case, you need to follow the change domain ownership process.
To change a domain's owner name via IP.GR, it is necessary that the domain has been registered or has been already transferred to IP.GR, i.e. IP.GR is the registrar of this domain name.
Note: A domain's owner change of name is a chargeable by the greek domain name Registry and the fee amounts to € 27.00 + VAT, according to the current price list. The name change application is forwarded to the Registry, after the trade fees have been paid.
The steps you need to follow are listed below:
- Initially, you need to log in to your IP.GR account.
- Next, you need to create a contact with the data of the new domain owner via:
Dashboard > Domains > Contacts > Register .gr contact
- Then, go to:
Dashboard > Domains > My domain names
and from the list of active domains, click the “Edit” button to the right of the domain for which you want to update the individual or company name. - From the side menu that appears on the left, navigate to Name change.
- Select the new owner from the list and click Continue.
- Finally, you will be redirected to your cart in order to select the type of document (Receipt / Invoice) and the payment method for the transfer fees, before completing your order.
Once the order is paid, the name change application will be sent to you by email in .pdf format, along with instructions for completing it. The change of the domain owner will be processed once we receive the fully completed and signed application by email.
