Over the years the constant evolution of the internet and technology, bring more and more important information that has to be stored on websites and especially on business websites. A website may hold important data of great value to the owner, the loss of which can lead to major financial impact for their business.
The above fact makes imperative the existence of
regular backups for all the websites.
By taking into account the modern needs of websites and e-shops and in order to provide an integrated customer care experience, we have added the
"JetBackup" application to all hosting plan of the Business and Semi-Dedicated lines.
With this application the recovery of a backup couldn't get easier, while the user can either full restore or partial restore the account, by selecting specific items of the hosting plan (files, databases, email, etc).
In this article you will find instructions on how to use both versions of JetBackup.
JetBackup 5
Access JetBackup 5
- Log into your cPanel account.
- From FILES section, click the JetBackup 5 icon.
From the tab "Dashboard" of JetBackup, you can fully or partially restore your account, download a backup and even backup your cPanel account at any time (backup on demand).
Full account restore / Download a full account backup
- From the Restore & Download section, click Full Backups.
- Select from the displayed list, the date where the Full Account backup was taken (it includes the website files, emails, settings etc).
- To restore your cPanel account:
- Click Restore at the bottom of the screen.
- Click Restore Selected Items.
- You will be taken to the (Queue) tab, where you can see the progress of the restore and get to know if it is done (status Completed).
- To download a Full Account backup to your device:
- Click the Download button at the bottom of the display.
- Click Download Selected Items.
- You will be taken to the (Queue) tab, where you can see the progress of the download and get to know if it is done (status Completed).
- Navigate from the side menu to the "Downloads" tab and at the right hand of the listed backup click Download, so you can download to your device the compressed file (download_XXX_XXX.tar.gz) that contains the full account backup.
Partial account restore / Download backup with individual sections
- From the Restore & Download section, click the item you want to restore (Home Directory, Email Accounts, Databases etc). In our example, we will select the Home Directory tab that contains the folders and the files that are accessible through the File Manager of your cPanel.
- Select from the list the date when the backup of the Home Directory was taken and then, you can optionally select specific folders or files, by clicking Change Files Selection. Otherwise, the entire Root Folder will be restored.
- Select the folders or files you want to restore and click Select Files.
- To restore the selected files:
- Click the Restore button at the bottom of the display.
- Click Restore Selected Items.
- You will be taken to the (Queue) tab, where you can see the progress of the restore and get to know if it is done (status Completed).
- To download the selected files to your device:
- Click the Download button at the bottom of the display.
- Click Download Selected Items.
- You will be taken to the (Queue) tab, where you can see the progress of the download and get to know if it is done (status Completed).
- Navigate from the side menu to the "Downloads" tab and at the right hand of the listed backup click Download, so you can download to your device the compressed file (download_XXX_XXX.tar.gz) that contains the backup with the selected files.
Manage Account, View Downloads and Queue
In the View & Manage section of Dashboard, you will also find the below icons:
- Manage Account
Through Manage Account, you can specify the email address that JetBackup notifications for the account will be sent to.
- View Downloads
By clicking the View Downloads icon, you will be taken to the "Downloads" tab of the side menu, where you can find the last 2 backups you've asked to download, so you can save them to your device. που έχετε ζητήσει να κατέβουν (download), προκειμένου να τα αποθηκεύσετε τοπικά στη συσκευή σας. The compressed files are created with the following format: "download_XXX_XXX.tar.gz".
- Queue
In the Queue section, you will be able to view a list with all the processes that are executed manually by the users , as well as view their status (Completed, Failed, Cancelled, Pending, Processing).
Alerts
In the Alerts section, you can view all the alerts generated from JetBackup processes. These alerts are divided into 3 categories:
- Information Alerts
Include alerts about started and completed backup jobs, download and restore processes.
- Warning Alerts
Warnings about Partially Completed backup jobs, download and restore processes.
- Critical Alerts
You will be notified when backup, restore or download processes have failed.
